For my Eagle Project, I built an outdoor platform for the weekday Preschool at Trinity Avenue to use as an outdoor classroom or stage. I’m very proud of the project I organized and built. I had to come up with the idea of a project to build, get in contact with the director of the preschool to see if they would approve. They approved it and then it was time to get all of the official approvals. I began to fill out the Eagle Project proposal paper and met with my eagle coach to get it all approved from there. Next, I started to figure out the details. I figured out the materials, measurements, amount of materials needed and the cost. The next step was to figure out the building date, find people to help and buy the materials. It was finally time to start building the platform! It was very hot the day we built it but we pushed through and completed the work. The building process was pretty straightforward, we simply had a plan and followed it to make sure everything was done correctly. After the platform was completed I received many emails and text messages from members of the church telling me how great it looked and how excited they were to see kids using it. So far it has been a great success. I loved seeing a bunch of kids playing and dancing on it at Sunday School one morning. I was very proud of it and all of the work that I put into it. Overall, I learned a lot through this process. It allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and do things I didn’t necessarily want to. Earning your Eagle Scout rank is a big accomplishment. If anyone in the troop needs help or guidance to start their Eagle Project I’m happy to help!
